There is no way to know which messages or images they sent you when you block them right now.
After getting unblocked if they sent a message, emoji, gif, image, etc then it will be shown with two ticks which means delivered. Those messages will also be shown on your Whatsapp account.

- Then click account

Now, let's also know which features are unavailable when you block someone on Whatsapp.
1. Whatsapp Status- Earlier when the person was blocked then they can't see your Whatsapp status at all and they will also not get to see your daily updated Whatsapp status of any day until they are blocked.
2. Profile Picture- When you block someone then your profile picture is not shown at all and it looks like you don't have a profile picture.
3. Whatsapp Call- When you block someone then they have the option to call you but it will not work. When they will call you on Whatsapp then it will always show calling but never ringing.
4. Whatsapp Messages- When you block them then every message, emoji, video, image, gif, etc they will send you will only show one tick which means sent but not delivered.
5. About Section- When you block them on Whatsapp then the about section is not shown to the person who got blocked.
They will not see any changes that you made to your about section on Whatsapp.
6. Whatsapp Video Call- When you block them on Whatsapp then they can video call you but your phone will never ring because they are blocked by you. It will also show calling but never ringing when they will try to video call.

When you block someone then automatically they get blocked indefinitely. You cannot block someone temporary or for a specific time because WhatsApp doesn't give the option to block someone for 1 hour or 1 week.
I was blocked by someone on WhatsApp but I can still see their online status How is that possible?
You can see their online status because you are no longer blocked by them.
If you think that you are blocked on WhatsApp and still you can see their online status. This is impossible because when you get blocked you can't see the online status.
Whatsapp also never provides the option to block someone and let them see your online status only.
